Common questions

The wait times look wrong or stale.

BorderPulse pulls directly from the US Customs and Border Protection feed. If CBP’s data is stale, the app will show a “data is X minutes old” warning at the top of the home screen. We don’t make up numbers - if CBP isn’t reporting, neither can we.

My usual crossing isn’t listed.

The app shows the crossings CBP officially reports wait times for. If a small or seasonal crossing isn’t there, it likely isn’t tracked by CBP. Open an issue and we can confirm.

Can I get notifications when the line gets short?

Not yet, but it’s on the roadmap. Subscribe to the GitHub repo to follow along.

Does the app work without internet?

No - wait times, weather, and exchange rate all need a network connection.

Is BorderPulse affiliated with CBP or the US government?

No. BorderPulse is an independent project. We use CBP’s public data, but we are not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any government agency.
